An article recently caught my eye in the August issue of House & Home and about designing for your age range and how to get a space to truly feel like your own. Which got me thinking about how here at Roomy we are able to help our clients out with just that - "making a space your own". 

 Everyone has his or her own style, flair and idea of what a space should look like. One of the reasons we do custom pieces is so that people can make it one of a kind. Our show room may seem modern and young at first glance but once you discuss with us what it is your looking for we are able to accommodate.

Having trouble figuring out how to explain your own design style? Sometimes being able to explain what's in your head may be hard to communicate to another person. If you're having trouble expressing through words what style and feel you are looking for then go through magazines or websites and bring in a photo or clipping of something close to what you are looking for. This can make sure your design consultant is pointing you in the right direction and find a piece that is right for you.

Another way to get a good grasp of your own style is to take a look around at the furniture you currently have in your home. What made you purchase it in the first place? Doesn't the saying go "if it's not broken don't fix it" - so if you love the piece already then use that as your base and the rest of the space will follow.
